"Serene": This was painted in acrylic at a local life drawing glass. In more recent times I've switch to using the Atelier acrylics that are blend-able (and work great! :-)) but I still love the hard edge that conventional acrylics give. In this work I really tried to enhance / emphasise the reflected blues on the skin which I think makes for some dramatic lighting.

Windmill
I painting this figure study a couple of years ago and the picture is available as a high quality, custom-sized giclee image here at Easyart
It's one of my favourite drawings because of its simplicity. The model is a former professional ballet dancer and was 60 years of age when she sat for this painting!

I painted the portrait of Jack shown on the left back in 2001, he was 15 at the time. The picture featured in an exhibition of portrait paintings that went on show at the Exeter Picture House in 2003, and Jack's father bought it as a gift for his wife.
So, it was a pleasant surprise when Jack's mum contacted me a few months ago and asked me to paint a second portrait, this time of their other son Josh (who is now 15). The second picture, painted in a similar style to the first is a gift for her husband and is shown below:
I recently added some animal designs to my zazzle store: www.zazzle.co.uk/mike_jory*
