The Sunday Art Show - Expressive impressionist watercolor street scene painting
This week, I take you through, step by step, how to paint a street scene in watercolor. Inspired by the sight of a twisted and crooked church spire in Chesterfield, England, I use a combination of simple, clean washes, wet-in-wet and dry brush to create and expressive, impressionist scene of Chesterfield town centre looking at the iconic church tower from a road bordered by a large Tudor building. You can see the finished painting 'Sunday morning in Chesterfield' here: https://mike-jory.pixels.com/featured/chesterfield-church-painting-mike-jory.html Materials: Daler-Rowney The Langton Watercolour paper (A2) rough 140 llb; Winsor and Newton Professional Watercolours: Alizarin Crimson, French Ultramarine Blue; Cerulean Blue; Burnt Umber; Cadmium Yellow; Synthetic Brushes: Round Mop; small round, round flat and square flat.
