When the Covid-19 pandemic hit and the UK went into lockdown in early 2020, Oxford portrait artist Tom Croft (check out his website here: http://www.thomascroft.co.uk/ ) responded by creating a movement that would celebrate the most heroic people during this difficult time. Portraits for NHS Heroes used social media to pair artists across the UK (and the World) with key workers in the NHS. This video gives you a glimpse of the impact of the movement, a look at Tom's work and also details how I created a portrait painting for an NHS key worker.
Materials used: wrapped canvas; watercolour marker pens; conventional acrylics; interactive acrylics; synthetic brushes
