The Sunday Art Show - Wild horse and foal painting demo

In this week's video, I show you how to paint a horse and foal using interactive acrylic paint. This demo starts with an A2 sheet of mixed media paper and a pre-prepared outline drawing that I did with a burnt umber acrylic paint marker. Next I add a couple of wet in wet washes of acrylic paint to create a soft textured background. Following completion of the background, I show you how I approach painting the horse and foal using wet in wet techniques.
Materials used: Daler Rowney mixed media paper, Liquitex acrylic paint marker, flat and round synthetic acrylic brushes, Atelier interactive acrylics: titanium white, permanent alizarine, phthalo blue, cadmium yellow, cadmium yellow deep, burnt umber, water spray

"Baby blue" - This product features a Mike Jory acrylic, charcoal and pastel painting of a young foal found on Dartmoor a National Park in Devon, United Kingdom. The picture was created by using charcoal to lay down the basic tonal shapes. Pastel was used to add some colour and then acrylic glazes were applied to creat some sheen on the horses body and to punch up the colors in certain areas.
